SupportSorted Update #3
The latest from SupportSorted. We find your therapist in 2h instead of 2 years.
TLDR: We have secured our first funding, switched to a different business model, we have onboarded 6 paying customers and we have made significant progress on our product to unblock the operations pipeline and provide analytics for clinics.
We are thrilled to share the latest news from SupportSorted! We match you with the therapist you want, not the one that’s best at appearing on search engines.
In this update, we’re sharing some exciting milestones, including our recent traction, product updates, secured funding, and updates to our business model. Plus, we’re unveiling our rebrand to SupportSorted (or SuSo) and introducing our new home online: supportsorted.com.
Did you know? The WHO estimates that 1.3b people, 16% of the world's population, currently experience significant disability and this number is growing. Important markets that service people living with a disability grow accordingly. The size of the global speech pathology market for example is estimated at $USD 34.5b with a growth rate of 9.21% for 2024-2030.
Key Developments:
Customers & Revenue:
We’ve transitioned to a B2B model: We partner directly with allied health clinics. So far, six clinics have signed up. The service remains free for clients searching for a therapist. We are currently focusing on rolling this out to as many clinics as possible.
Increasing users on our website: We have launched a marketing campaign targeting support coordination agencies that manage large customer bases and are constantly looking for available providers.
Product Update:
Unblocking operations pipeline: We’ve started unblocking our operations by building a provider backend. Clinics can now manage their profiles themselves and add details about their professionals directly, helping us collect better information without needing to be involved in every step.
Analytics Dashboard: Providers can access detailed insights into their clinic's performance, including impressions, clicks, and referrals—both for the clinic as a whole and for each individual professional. Providers also receive reports on where people search to adapt allocation of their resources in real time. This is particularly valuable to mobile clinics that can dynamically shift the areas they cover.
Rebranding:
Our first AI powered search engine is focused on therapists in the Australian disability sector and is now called “SupportSorted”, or SuSo for short. We found that this descriptive name makes it easy for us to communicate what we do. You can check it out here: supportsorted.com.
These are our new logos:
First funding secured: We have finished the Monash Accelerator program and secured a small amount of non-dilutive funding. Thanks to the team at The Accelerator for believing in us!
Y-Combinator application: We have submitted an application to Y-Combinator and are currently awaiting their response. We will know the outcome by December 18th. Our fingers are crossed!
User Summary:
Website statistics:
8488 Providers appeared in searches
916 Views of professional profiles
68 Referrals sent through our website
Ongoing interviews: We’re continuing our user interviews with clinics (B2B customers) and support coordinators to optimise the platform to their needs.
Challenges and Asks:
We are seeking connections with support coordinators within the NDIS community. Any introductions would be greatly appreciated!
NDIA Collaboration: Contacts within the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency) are crucial as we aim to enhance our understanding and integration with national disability policies.
Collaboration with peak bodies: We are looking to establish relationships with organisations such as Speech Pathology Australia (SPA), the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).
Special Thanks:
Andrew Wilkinson, Murray Longe and David Wei: A heartfelt thank you to Andrew and Murray, founders of True Local, and David, founder of Brosa, for being incredible mentors!
Looking Forward:
Our journey with SupportSorted is just beginning, and we are excited about the potential of our AI technology to transform the way people find the right therapist. Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in our vision. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact on families navigating disability support.
All the best,
Dr. Sam Donegan and Dr. Lukas Wesemann
